The impact of colonialism in Africa concerning writing and publishing of books for African children by African authors had a vast and positive effect because it has introduced children to reading materials in which brought about interest in reading and therefore also lead to literacy, written stories passed down cultural values and mores to other African children in which has shown different cultural groups similarities and differences, such makes children to understand the diversity of cultures we have and how they differ from each other and that gives one a room of respect in how others convey themselves.
The writing and publishing of African stories by African authors also has a major impact on language, stories are written in different languages that can be beneficial to a child and easy to understand for them, and therefore this brings about interest in reading culture.
